While you can position the light to the subject's left or right, it's while shooting through the fixture's 14" diameter central opening with your camera or smartphone attached to the included mounts, that the real magic happens. The light has a color temperature that's variable from 3200 to 5600K to blend in seamlessly with your room light or just for creative effects.
